A Giant Wombat fossil has been found in Queensland, Australia. It is reported that the beast is over 2 million years old.
Prof Mike Archer, a professor of biological science at the University of New South Wales, described the discovery as extraordinary.”We found the most gigantic marsupial ever known,” he told the BBC. “These were very huge animals but with pouches. If one tried to visualise what this thing looked like, you’d have to sort of think of a gigantic wombat on steroids.”

Warner Bros. has announced that it intends to fight the Mortal Kombat ban that was imposed in Australia last month.
While the game is obviously gruesome, the publisher says that the gore in Mortal Kombat is on a par “with numerous other titles available for sale in the Australian market”.
The official Statement read:
Currently, Mortal Kombat is rated mature which was deemed necessary to create the unimaginable brutality that the franchise is best known for, according to NetheRealm Studios anyway.
Here is a great surfing video taken from a Quadrocopter over Broken Head, Byron Bay, Australia.
Broken Head is the right hand point break at the southern end of Tallow Beach. It is a world class, sand bottom, long right hand wave. The swell was up, but the rides were not particularly long.
