EA has slashed the price of most of its top games on iDevices down to just 99c in the App Store, sparking another buying frenzy.
Last time it did a sale of this nature was over the Christmas period, causing EA titles to dominate the Top Paid Apps lists much to the frustration (and anger) of the indy dev community who struggle on a normal day get their games noticed.

Autum’s Heretic coffin sofa is “Custom Built From an 18 Gauge, Steel Coffin” and is part of a limited run of three. I’ve seen other coffin conversions before, but this is certainly the most plush-looking piece.
Bethesda has revealed that it looked to its own Fallout 3 for influence when it came to fixing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s difficulty curve. That’s what we like to see.
Speaking to Official Xbox Magazine in the UK, game director Todd Howard acknowleged that the fact monsters levelled with you in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was an issue for fans.
“It’s similar now to what we did in Fallout 3,” he revealed, “where we changed it a lot. We now have the ability to set a dungeon and say that ‘this dungeon is this hard’, so when you come in it will look at you and adjust its difficulty level. But it might be much harder, just because of what it is.
“It also saves the state of the monsters. So if you come in and at the side it says, ‘okay, this is going to be hard for your character’ – and it might be much easier because of how we set it – but it won’t change its difficulty if you leave.”
Skyrim is set two centuries years after predecessor Oblivion. The land of Skyrim has erupted into civil war after the assassination of its King, whilst god Alduin arises to destroy the world.
The title is due for release on 11/11/11 across the globe, on PS3, 360 and PC.
Anything with Lego stuck at the start is ok by me and at least worth a look, though im not too sure who is actually playing all these Lego games. Or for that matter, who’s playing Lego Online Universe or whatever its called. It just doesn’t seem to have the extra approach to make sure the Gears Or War generation are playing them. The novelty seems to wear off after you’ve have a quick look. Lego Iggy Pop on their attempt at Rock Band was cool though!
Her’s something a bid more manly and main stream. The pictures here boast some stunning homemade efforts by a Andy Pescovitz, that are either Lego models manipulated as well as some sculpted by the looks of it. The collection include some Halo:Reach chaps on a warthog along with a well worked Max Payne Loadout on page four.

Hats off to the guy for making the sword, it looks just right and is about the right size by the looks of it. And Kudos for his earlier efforts at swinging the thing. But maybe including all that stuff about how your doctor said you couldn’t carry it wasn’t the greatest idea, if you listen hard enough you can hear him tell his wife he’s slipped another disk! It doesn’t really make for a good action video.
Then his muscle bound buddy shows up and….. it skill looks lame, barely cutting the wood.
The problem is is that he didn’t have the right materia me thinks. But still one of the best fan-boy creations we’ve seen, right up there with the gears of war rifle’s we feel.
It looks like Sony will detail plans for official PlayStation Move PC support at GDC at the end of the month.
A listing for a presentation by SCEA’s lead in the Game Systems team in Developer Support John McCutchan, outlines a new project that will allow hobbyists to meddle with the Move on their PC.
“This talk will bring developers up to speed on developing for the PlayStation Move controller,” It says. ”We will cover developing for the new PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter accessory. We will discuss the new Move Server project that will make it possible for academics and hobbyists to develop software using the PlayStation Move controller on their own PCs.”
If tech heads around the world can be even half as creative with the Move as they are when they hook up Microsoft’s Kinect to a PC then we could be seeing more exciting DIY development. I wanna see some PlayStation Move trainers/sneakers for the next Sonic game, or maybe a Farmville rip-off named Playstation Moo?
Rumour have been confirmed that a single disc trilogy collection of the splinter cell franchise will be released. The disc will include Splinter Cell 1, Pandora Tomorrow and the brilliant Chaos Theory all rezzed-up and looking swanky on the PS3.
Meanwhile, Ubi have also announced that a Prince of Persia Trilogy, unfortunately, only released in the US as downloads via the PS Store, will also get a Blu-ray release in the region on the same day.
The PoP collection includes Sands of Time, The Warrior Within and The Two Thrones on the disc, playable in stereoscopic 3D. If you have all the kit that is.
Both compilation discs will set you back $39.99 each. Expect a UK release date for the Splinter Cell Trilogy soon.
Dean spotted that bowdlerization is afoot in the iPad’s bookstore’s selection of classic literature! This includes obvious candidates such as a certain Joseph Conrad classic.
